an investment of sorts

A week’s worth of absence probably wasn’t the best idea for a new blog, but I promise it hasn’t been in vain – I come with good news! 。*:★(´・ω・人・ω・`)。:゜★。

If you haven’t already noticed, Storyscape is currently running from a completely new domain/URL, which is chels.ohmydearest.org! Thanks to the generosity of a close friend of mine, who has graciously let me use her hosting domain (thank you so, so much, Sarah ♡), this blog is now 100% up and running on a full version of WordPress. Which means some really dandy customisation options, plugins, and of course, unlimited storage space – all of which will be geared towards storing better and more comprehensive content ;w;

Hint, hint: There’s also a subscribe option in the sidebar now, so you can have notifications about each update sent straight to your email inbox~

I’ve kept myself busy this past week with transferring this blog between domains and messing around on the dashboard, but I’ve also made another investment, sort of. I really wanted to reconnect with something I used to do all the time as a kid: art and calligraphy! I quit the classes I took in elementary school, but some adult part of me now misses it dearly and wants to go back, strangely?

When I was younger, I worked best with coloured pencils and paint – crayons/pastels would get into my nails and coal, good gracious, I’d smudge everything. I started working on the colouring book June, Kimm and Priya bought for my birthday last year, which really has been super therapeutic. I tend to get complicated when it comes to shading and mixing colours, though, so I take a really long time with each page.

I paid a visit to my favourite neighbourhood stationery supplies place and got myself a good set of watercolours, a palette and some nylon brushes for casual painting! A quick Google search, the miracle that it is, yielded an amazing deal for a 3-piece water brush pen set on Lazada, which I bought in a heartbeat and am super excited about because I’ve seen the amazing things it can do but never actually got to use one myself ;__; I’m looking forward to when it comes in the mail, so I can start messing around with calligraphy again. (But of course, me being me, I got ahead of myself when I saw that it was 50% off and shipping was free that I forgot to check where it shipped from… and it ships from overseas so month-long waiting period…)

In the meantime, if you guys have any suggestions on art supplies – especially markers and pens – please buzz me! Goodness knows it’s been so long since I last did anything remotely art. I’m also hoping to do commissions when I feel properly ready for it to earn some side income and not be a freeloader at home, so more from this little venture in time, I think c:
